Our amputee rehab program is unlike any in southern Utah and, honestly, perhaps the entire United States. The keys to our success and our program are consistency, teamwork, and expertise. Under a traditional rehab model for most amputees, they would see anywhere from 8-15 different physical therapists throughout their rehab. Under our program you will see one from start to finish. Curt Jensen is contracted with a local rehab facility, two Home Health agencies and is the owner of House Call Physical Therapy and he will follow you from start to finish, provided you can be seen through those other institutions. We are in constant communication with your prosthetist and we attend your follow-up visits at the prosthetist’s office to ensure good communication and teamwork. Our house call format specifically benefits amputees due to new found difficulties with transportation. We have an impressive array of exercise and adaptive equipment, including parallel bars that we can set up in your house along with every other assistive device imaginable. We also utilize video gait analysis and have more exercise equipment at your prosthetist’s office.
Whether you are scheduled for amputation, are in the hospital, or just got home, call us as soon as possible so we can get you started and help prevent joint stiffness that is common after amputation that severely limits your gait quality long-term. We know from the beginning what you can achieve in the end and because you have the consistency of the same therapist the entire time we will be able to get you there!
As with most physical therapy clinics, we can see any patient for any diagnosis requiring physical therapy. This includes back pain, neck pain, any other sports or overuse conditions, dizziness and balance impairment, decreased endurance, and any other reason requiring physical therapy. We just hold the advantage over other clinics because we perform it in a one-on-one format with the professional giving you 100% of their time and attention rather than turning you over to machines and clinic aides who are in high school or college. Your health and livelihood are important enough that you deserve 100% of your physical therapist’s time and attention, which is what we give.p>
Other specific specialties include: edema management, hand therapy, speech, cognition and swallow therapy. And with physical, occupational and speech therapy you can consider us a full-service stroke rehab clinic.
